Spring is coming. It’s the time of the year when nature is changing, promising new life and hope. Spring is literally a breath of fresh air. And as the days get longer, the nights get shorter and it starts to feel warmer, we have more energy, and so do our kids !
On this occasion, we have selected FIVE kids activities to do in Geneva this March :
The first activity we would like to introduce is a workshop in our fantastic Botanical Garden. It is for kids from 6-10 year olds and it allows them to observe plants and their seeds. The workshop will take place onApril 25th.
Every Wednesday afternoon (2pm to 5pm), the travelling bus sets in various school playgrounds across Geneva (usually Hugo-de-Senger and Geinsendorf). Installing a wide range of toys and activities, it’s a wonderful way for kids to be social, try out new toys and be outside. It’s free and goes on until the 8th of April.
Wish to introduce your child to Opera ? Or you’ve never thought of it before ? Well we recommend you check out Bambin’OpérA ! Organised by a professional opera singer, performers take you through their lives and talents. Meet them on Saturday March 14th at Coffee-Bar 'les 4 Coins’.
The OSR (Orchestre de la Suisse Romande) also organises concerts for children. These are musical stories performed by 4 or 5 musicians. The stories themselves are interesting and interactive. After the concert children can come up to the musicians and try out different instruments.
On Saturday March 21st is ‘Le Carnaval des Animaux’, at 10:30 am and 4 pm. They sell out quickly but you can always come 15 minutes early and get tickets.
The LOCG (l’Orchestre de Chambre de Genève) is also organising an Opera for Children on Saturday the 21st of March. Brundibár is based on the tale of Hansel and Gretel. The performance is full of allusions and metaphors. The event will be in Plainpalais at 4pm.
We wish you a lovely Spring !
